Roller Coaster Ride

Life is a roller coaster ride, we've heard this phrase a thousand times. It's very common yet accurate. "Life is about taking risk, letting go and just having fun." I can still remember my first roller coaster ride. It was nerve wracking. My heart pounded so hard, I was so scared. I have no one to sit beside me because all my friends were occupied. That made it even more scary. So the ride started, slowly reversed upward, making me more nervous, then I heard a clank, that's when the ride starts going down really fast I thought my heart was going to drop. I closed my eyes for a while because I don't want to see the world upside down from the loop, but when I opened my eyes, I was upside down. It was crazy.

Can you still remember the feeling when you first recited at school? The first time you stood on stage? The first time you had a crush on someone? Your first relationship? Heart break?

How about when you first entered college? Fresh start, fresh faces, fresh place. The first time you rode an airplane, the first time you traveled.

Your first job interview? Getting your first payslip? Moving away from your family?

Every first time is exciting and scary at the same time. Just like a roller coaster ride. It requires courage and a positive attitude. You need to live your life  like how you ride a roller coaster. It's okay to be afraid, for a while. Be excited for what's ahead. Be prepared. The most important lesson? Choose who you want to spend the ride with. After all, the ride doesn't really matter, it's who you spend it with. I may not be with someone on my first ride but that's okay. At least I proved to myself that I can do anything, even without someone beside me. We all need to be alone for some time.

The first part will always be the most extreme or the most scariest. As the ride goes on, every turn, every bump, every loop will be the most fun part. So hold on tight, enjoy the ride of your life. You'll never know what's next, but it will be the best experience! Sometimes you just want to close your eyes until it ends because you're too afraid, not knowing that that would have been the best part of your life.

Step out of your comfort zone, allow yourself to be free, scream at the top of your lungs.

Conversing but not Communicating

Communication is important to connect with someone. What's hard is being in a conversation full of random meaningless words, but not one word connected to your heart and soul.

In making relationships work, either love, family, or friends, communication is always necessary. To me, even without any word, you can communicate. Through eye contact, sweet gestures, a kiss, a hug, have it your way.

Just because you are talking about something, doesn't mean you are communicating.

Have you ever experienced talking with a certain person everyday but you feel like your floating away from that person. More and more, they seemed to be far away from you. The connection is not there anymore.

Whether it's a relationship, your friends, or family. You don't have to talk about a certain topic. Sometimes you need to check if you still have that communication or you're just having a conversation everyday.

Keep touching each other's soul. Keep on communicating. One meaningful word is worth more than a thousand meaningless words.

Don't let it fade away. Talk about things you don't usually talk about. Ask the person how is she/he doing.

Always allow the other to speak and tell stories.

Lighten up. If you think that the both of you are already bombarded with problems, try to lighten the conversation. It's okay to share your problems, your rants, and your complaints but not to the point that you never stop talking about them, it's tiring to hear the same thing or rants over and over again.

Keeping a conversation going is easy, but staying connected not only through words but with actions is real hard work.

Let me know what you think, state your opinion or the comments, give some advice as well if you wish.

Talk to you soon on my next post.

The Face Shop's Easy Cover Stick Concealer Review

If you'll notice, I've been reviewing a lot of Face Shop's products because I really love them! The Face Shop's products are pricy but it's worth it. The quality, the gorgeous packaging! It's awesome!

So for today, I'm going to make a review about The Face Shop's Easy Cover Stick Concealer

Concealers are very important to correct or cover our darks circles, blemishes, it's also very useful for correcting your make-up and highlighting your features especially your nose bridge, forehead and chin.

In order to cover dark spots, a concealer must be 3 shades lighter than your natural skin tone.

Blending is very much needed for you to not look to white.

Packaging:

The packaging is pretty simple. I love simple Korean Cosmetics as long as the product actually works. I got the shade N203 as you can see. It's a travel friendly product because of the stick unlike some concealers who are contained in a glass tube or something.

Swatches:

Unblended
Blended

Instructions:

  • After applying your foundation, apply the product under your eye to cover the dark circles, cover blemishes, apply on the bridge of your nose, your chin and forehead, but not on your whole forehead.
  • Blend it with a concealer brush or a beauty blender (if using a beauty blender, just tap onto it and be sure not to glide or swipe it.
  • Set with a setting powder or powder foundation
I look funny here my goodness!

Personal Review:

This product is very easy to use, although there are times that it doesn;t fully cover dark blemishes, or your dark circles which is somehow okay for me so that your beauty won't look too un-natural. This is good for daily make-up but not for heavy pageant or party make-up. It creases sometimes so be sure to set it with powder. It's long lasting so no need to retouch every once in a while. It's good for highlighting eyebrows and it's not hard to blend to the lines on your brows can be easily removed.

So to sum it all up, here are the pros and cons of this concealer:

PROS:

  • Easy to blend
  • Travel friendly (because of the packaging)
  • You can apply easily under your eyes because of the stick's shape
  • Organic (of course)
  • Very affordable (295 php only)
  • Good for hiding dark circles and blemishes without overdoing it
  • Long lasting
  • Animal cruelty free
  • Eco-friendly packaging

 CONS:

  • Doesn't have enough shades to choose from so might be too light on those who have dark or tanned skin.

Rating:
4.5/5

So over-all, this is a good product, more than good I think. It's affordable, very easy to use and it's eco-friendly. I would recommend this to those who are having sleepless nights and wants to look well-rested. I would definitely buy this product again, no doubt on that! :)

Let me know if you liked this product too or if there are other concealers that you want to recommend or want me to give a review.

Have a lovely day! Thanks for reading.

The Face Shop's Designing Eyebrow Pencil Review

Eyebrow pencils are the most important weapon a girl must have. Eyebrows are a huge deal. Your day will not be complete without drawing a perfectly shaped eyebrow. This is how I found this product, so my eyebrow pencil ran out which is also a Face Shop's product (one of my favorite brands) if you are familiar with lovely.me design my eyebrows, so I decided to run to the shop and get that eyebrow pen. Unfortunately, it wasn't available at that store but there are other products to choose from so I decided to go with this one.

I thought they were almost the same but upon using this product I noticed some differences about them.

They have the same packaging, not the same color though, same pen point and it also comes out with an eyebrow brush.

This is the tip, no need to sharpen, just turn the case to get more product
It comes with a brush which is very essential. Yay!
What I like about this product is that it's very easy to use, the shape of the end of the pen makes it easier to draw your eyebrows, though this one's tip is thicker than lovely.me design my eyebrows but it's how you use it. This type of eyebrow pencils are starting to be a trend, I saw this type from Etude House and some make-up brands are starting to get the idea because it's easy to use.

I like this product because of it helps you define your eyebrows better but what I'm not a fan of is that it's a bit thick and it has a bit of a creamy texture and you don't get so much from the first swipe so you really need to draw it harder. But not too hard that you break it.

One thing I struggle the most by using this product is when I draw the below curved part of the eyebrow because it gets sticky and it's really hard to draw but you just have to stretch your skin by raising your eyebrows to draw it easily.

This shade is brown but they also have a really really brown color and greyish brown, because we all know that Koreans are crazy when it comes to hair color so it's really important to math your eyebrows with your hair color.

I mentioned on my previous blog that for you to achieve a perfect eyebrow, you must have the right tools. I think this one is okay. It's better if you use an eyebrow mascara.

First swipe (I did swipe hard enough)
After several swipes (seriously LOL)

This is how I do my eyebrows (no concealer to highlight)

So to sum it all up, these are the pros and cons;

Pros:

  • Very easy to use
  • Has its own eyebrow brush
  • No need to sharpen
  • Helps you define your eyebrows easily
  • Easy to erase but doesn't fade all day
Cons:
  • Has a creamy texture which I don't like because I like it solid if you get what I mean
  • It's hard to draw an awesome line on the first swipe so be careful not to overdraw because it might get too thick.

Rating:
4/5

I loved this product but I would still prefer using lovely.me design my eyebrows I'm really sad it wasn't available but I'm still happy that I got to try this one. Their the same but they have some differences, I'll try to get a hold of these eyebrow pencils or Korean make-ups so that I can compare them. So excited to do that!

So after putting on concealers to highlight this is my finished look:

Eyebrows on fleek all the way!

L'oreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation Review

I noticed that L'oreal True Match Liquid foundation is now making a huge hype on Facebook and I read a lot of comments that most of its buyers were really satisfied. However, most blogs are actually contradicting, but anyway I was still interested so I decided to give this product a shot. I don't fancy drug store make ups, and I really prefer Korean cosmetics but L'oreal Paris is known to be one of the best drugstore make-ups out there. This product costs 600 PHP.

I got the N4 Nude Beige shade

This product claims have:

  • Shade Micro Precision - which means they have 5 matching pigments conditioned to the color structure of Asian skin tone.
  • Finish Micro-Perfection - ultra-fine pigments refine and smooth skin inch by inch.
  • Texture Micro-Homogenity - ultra-gliding texture infused with oil cocoons skin with sublime comfort.

Instructions:

Shake before use
Get some product from the pump
Apply and blend onto your face
(For better results set your face with powder or powder foundation, even though this product is matte, it still needs to be set)

This foundation is very tricky, I usually don't read instructions on how to use it simply because it's easy, pump and use it. I noticed that the texture was very runny, then I decided to check the label below and read the instruction that you should shake it first before you use it, after shaking it, it thickened.

What I love about this foundation is it truly does matches my skin tone and it's not too hard to blend. It's not too pink and not too yellow. It just goes well with your skin tone. I think that's because of the Shade Micro Precision they were claiming.

SWATCHES:

This is the texture when shaken
This is the texture when you did not shake it before use, as I've mentioned, it's runny
When blended

One thing I noticed about this liquid foundation is that after blending these swatches, they tend to darken on the edge, and there are glittery particles that I don't understand why and I seriously need an explanation for that but no worries since they don't show up on my face, not that I know of but it really doesn't.

When I first used this product since I have no knowledge that it should be shaken first before use, it felt oily and heavy on the face. I kept retouching and retouching every two or three hours, the heaviness was really annoying. It has a matte finish, though as I've mentioned, as the day goes by, it's really oily. Also, they claim that this product will smoothen your skin inch by inch, it somehow does that so yay for them.

What I liked about this product is that it's designed for Asian women's skin and it really does, the shades, but I really don't like it when it's hot my oiliness blends with this product's heaviness so it was really uncomfortable and annoying.

I also don't like the smell, it smells rubberish (if that's even a word) I love foundations with good scents or let them have no scents at all!

This foundation is for medium coverage by the way but build-able to full coverage

These are the photos of how the products looked on my face (no powders and concealers)

As you can see, I haven't applied a concealer but it hid my dark circles and blemishes, plus points for L'oreal!

So to sum it all up here are the pros and cons of this product

Pros:

  • It truly matches your skin tone (hooray for that!)
  • Somehow smoothens your skin
  • Matte finish so no need to put on lots and lots of powder to set
  • Different shades to choose from
  • Medium coverage (build-able to full)
  • Almost covers dark circles and blemishes
  • Acceptable price

Cons:

  • The smell. I really don't like the smell
  • The oily and heavy feeling after three to four hours
  • Doesn't last long enough
  • Not non-transferable (annoying cause I get foundations on my phone sometimes, weird)

Rating:

3 out of 5

So there you go, over all, I liked this product overall but I wouldn't say I love it and I'm crazy about it. I don't think I would buy it again because I love to try other products as well and I'm not a total fan of this one. I would recommend this to those who wants to learn how to do make-up and have a tight budget. Well for me this is still a bit pricy but it is acceptable though.

Well this product somehow worked for me. Let me know if you liked this product too. :)

Have a great day!

By the way this is my finished look after adding all my make-up

Lazada Shopping Experience

I find it hard shopping at the mall simply because I'm not comfortable with sales ladies coming near me asking if I need help, not to be rude or anything, I know it's their job, but it's just too awkward for me. I just want to look around and check out stuff. Their presence makes me buy anything even when I don't need which is not their fault of course it's just because I don't want to disappoint them or waste their efforts by assisting me. I don't know, it's just too awkward for me. LOL. Luckily, online shopping is now a major trend.

Lazada claims to provide their consumers with a wide range of choices either health / beauty, home or appliances and many many more. Lazada helps their consumers shop effortlessly. There are so many online shop nowadays and some even sell stuff on Facebook or Instagram but you need to be careful and make sure that every transaction is secured.

Lazada offers cash on delivery which means you can pay your transactions once they arrive on your doorstep, you can shop even without a credit card! It also helps the consumers build trust because you can only pay for the item once you had the opportunity to inspect your product.
Lazada also claims to offer 100% buyer protection which means you can return any product within 14 days upon delivery and only trusted merchants and service providers are allowed to sell in the site.

You can read more from their website here.

Based on my personal experience, these are the pros and cons of shopping with Lazada

Pros:

  • Effortless shopping (of course) just search what you want t buy and then it will show you a lot of offers.
  • Various range of products from branded to local, from less expensive to high end, you can find everything here.
  • The delivery is very fast which I love, my orders were scheduled to arrive at June 21-22 but bam! I received a text on June 20 and my products were there plus it's free shipping since my total purchase was more than 1,500 php
  • Products are sealed, mine was covered in bubble wrap so you don't have to worry about things being broken. I bought a contour powder kit and I was worried it would shatter into pieces, but thankfully, everything is well. I wasn't able to take a picture of my items wrapped because I was so excited. Sorry about that.
  • The delivery guys were very friendly. They make jokes a lot and they remind you if they are near on your location. They are very accommodating.
  • Cash on delivery - cash on delivery is very convenient especially for me since I don't have a credit card and I'm lazy enough to deposit money on the bank. However, this doesn't apply on all the products, it will depend on the supplier.
  • Awesome deals and discounts! I got my items at a discounted rate and it's not just a 10% discount. Most of the items on Lazada are discounted so yayyy!

Cons:

  • You don't get to see the product live so you really have to read reviews and make sure that that is the product you want. (but still, you can return products within 14 days upon delivery if you're not satisfied with them) I'm not really sure if this applies to all of the items.
  • For beauty products, you don't get to test them first on your skin. For example, you are buying a foundation, you have to make sure that it is the right color for you (but then again, you can still return it or have it exchanged)
  • Don't expect that your product would look exactly like it in person. Of course, there are items out there that are very deceiving. It might look twice their size on the photo. Although, some items have a description that they might not look the same in person which is good, it avoids disappointments for their consumers.
I would rate my shopping experience a 5/5 because I really enjoyed shopping with Lazada, it's hassle-free, very easy. I'm already purchasing some items on my cart as of now just because I love the convenience it provides. No need to go to the mall, eat there, commute or drive and spend more. With Lazada, you can now shop effortlessly.

I recommend it to you guys especially if you're very lazy like me. :) Let me know what you think

Confessions of a New Blogger

I decided to write a blog because of my serious love for make-up, most especially Korean products. Well, I thought I had a good start until I stopped blogging for about two to three months I guess, because I ran out of ideas, I ran out of make-up products to review.

Well, who cares about that, and why am I telling you this? So here's the thing, I'm not an expert or pro with make-up, I started my blog just to help people, especially those who are just starting to appreciate it,  decide which are the best products to use and providing simple easy steps to begin make-up. I always wanted to be a part of people's lives. I just started my blog and I'm really hoping that I could reach out to a lot of people.

I used to read other blogs talking about the basics, how to get more followers and such, how to write a good content etc. It really helped, a lot.

So to my fellow new bloggers, these are my confessions, learned lessons and realizations upon blogging. Take it as an advice as well if you like.

1. Let your blog be you

It is really important to show people who you really are in a blog. Be private but show yourself. Show what you are capable of and what are your purpose. Pictures, content, show the whole world who you are and what you can bring on the table.

2. Read read read and read other blogs

Read other blogs too. It really helps especially those who are blogging since forever! They know pretty much everything! So get some tips from them but don't steal their work. I specifically struggle on the photos, I'm really not a expert when it comes to those but reading blogs help me get ideas but not steal about the photos. The lighting, the right angle, and etc.

3. Blogging is not always about the money

Never blog because of the money and the perks. It will take the fun out of it. I must admit, at first I was blinded about getting sponsors, earning so much money from ads and etc. It seriously took out the fun out of it because I was worried that my blog wouldn't sell where in fact I published this in the first place to reach out to people by sharing our passions. So I got lost there, I still dream about getting sponsors but it will take time and if you do what you love, those are just bonus. :)

4. Listen only to yourself but be open

Don't be afraid of other's judgment. I must admit, I really got conscious about what others might think about my blog, what if people won't like it, I let the pressure get to me, but turns out most of my friends are liking it and find it very helpful which is good for me. I may not please everybody, but atleast I'm happy that somehow, it's being noticed and it helps people not just on making decisions for their make-up thingy but also encourages other people because most of my content are about empowerment and encouragement. Don't be discouraged but also accept the expert's advice and opinions. :)

5. Let your voice be heard

I know we don't literally hear each other's voices on blogs (kidding) but your voice can be heard through your contents. Allow readers to feel you and believe in your blog just like how you believe in yourself. Be a part of something great because of it. Blogging may not be for everybody, but blogging is definitely for anybody who wants to gain something in their lives, either recognition, source of living, source of your happiness, or whatever your purpose is, your blog has a voice and let it be heard.

So again I'm not an expert, these are just my thoughts and you are very much welcome to give me advice as well.

That's it for today! Have an awesome day. :)
